On what was a slow stretch at the box office, "Limitless" ended up grabbing ahold of the top slot over the weekend of March 18-20, 2011.
According to early estimates, the Bradley Cooper spearheaded thriller about "a writer who discovers a top-secret drug which bestows him with super human abilities" beat out the competition with a total of $19 million in ticket sales.
Running in second was Johnny Depp's animated movie "Rango" - which made $15.5 million in its third week of release for a cumulative total of $92.7 million.
Rounding out the top five were "Battle: Los Angeles" ($14.5 million), "The Lincoln Lawyer" ($13.6 million) and "Paul" ($13.2 million).
